My current catastrophe requires me to trace the path of the MODE switch system on my TS-430S..and I am bewildered by the apparent lack of information . I see that here are 2 separate connectors from the switch board but only one apparent interface point on the control board , and am not certain that there isn't an intermediate point thru some other board.
After just recently adding an AM and CW filter set to the radio ..I now have the USB switch failing to toggle on. All others fine and all worked before my installation of the 2 filters and the FM-430 board.
I am also uncertain as to the use of R16 (680 ohm) resistor across the old empty AM filter position. I suspect that this is to be removed (and I did) to replace the wide unfiltered but working AM mode so as to give a minimum access to AM for non SWL users (WWV etc access). I can't see how this resistor would have effected USB ..any more that I could see leaving it in place and negating the filter I just added .
The led will not light no matter if I turn on while holding or try it in any order after playing the others .
This stays the same even if I unplug connector #27 ,but that doesn't seem to be the first place the cable from the mode switch plugs in.
Manual is very cryptic on the cable routing as far as I can see,and I hate having to risk damage snaking around in there.
I need a chart or a diagram or any pioneer's gouge on the problem.
