I have a Kenwood TKM-707 Transceiver that is brand new in the box. It has
the amateur radio mods performed by the dealer. These modifications are very simple and easy to change back to the original factory specifications. They allow the TKM-707 to transmit from the "VFO" dial as well as from memory and allow lower side band as well as upper side band operation. This makes for a versatile transceiver useful for the ham operator as well as the marine operator. Documentation of the modifications performed is included. The TKM-707 is a high performance SSB radio telephone transceiver designed to meet the stringent demands of the marine market, both in quality and ruggedness. This transceiver utilizes a heavy-duty rust-proof aluminum chassis and the highest quality parts to maximize performance. Output power is 150 watts. It has 198 memories, a large efficient cooling system and dual mode noise blankers. It transmits from 2 MHz to 23 MHz, and it receives general coverage shortwave frequencies from 500 KHz to 30 MHz. It meets all US coast guard requirements for commercial vessels. Price is $750. They retail for $1499. AES is running a sale on they for $1249. Digital pictures available upon request.
