I have been thinking of installing a 10 meter rig in the truck. I had,
several years ago, an HTX-10 and it worked fine when the band was open. My question would be if I want to operate 10 meter SSB (only) and not FM is the HTX-10 superior to the older HTX-100??? The prices on eBay are reasonable for both units but the HTX-100 is cheaper. Thanks for your help 73's Chuck W=D8CBF |

As I recall, the HTX-100 doesn't have any memories, if you happen to have some pet frequencies. One fault with the HTX-10, is that it doesn't retain its memories when disconnected from power for very long. I modified mine to add a Lithium battery plus isolation diode, so the memories don't evaporate. The HTX-100 is a variation of the Uniden HR-series Ten Meter radios. The HTX-10 is a variation of the Albrecht AE-485S. I found some information at http://www.albrecht-electronic.de/se...urfunk/AE485S/. I don't think anyone would be able to tell the difference between the two radios on the air, other than the HTX-100 being calibrated off-frequency by 100 Hz! 73, Fred, K4DII |
