Looks like a device used to switch an old style amplifier without a t/r
relay in and out of the line.

Looks to me like an antenna relay to bypass a Linear amp at the throw of
a switch. Most modern PAs have this built in, I think. I suppose it would
be useful for an old model PA that didn't have built in bypass capability.
