Hello,
My friend has a VX-7R (European version) that he is willing to sell to me for a good price. I live in the US and am aware that the European verison will not initially work on the frequencies I need to work on here in the US. I was wondering if I use the freeband mod for it, will it then be a good radio for me to use here in the US? How is the VX-7R Us verison that has freeband mod different from the European version with freeband? Thanks. |

Heleo Brad, i think there are no great problems. the EU-version with freeband mod. has no cellphone blocking ... And maybe the auto repeater shift does not work? So it is with other yaesu handies US-Version will have ever ARS in US-shift. The vx7 is a good radio, buy it ;-) best 73 de Wolfgang DL2KBJ |

Thank you for you quick relpy. I did notice that the VX-7R Commander
software (which enables freeband), lets you set a shift/Tx freq for a specific RX freq. Will this solve the ARS issue? thanks |
