12/17/05:
I recently picked up a T-8, and am looking for a Fast Charger for it, either a ICOM drop in unit with the correct adaptor, or for a generic (perhaps radio shack) Nimh fast charger, that will work. Also looking for a battery pack schematic; specifically the function of the center contact on the outside of the battery case..It is a temperature switch? Close or open when battery heats up, approaching full charge? Is it a thermistor that changes R with heat? How does the ext power/charger jack work? I plugged it into a 12 v source, and get pulsating current draw, betw 150 and 300 ma, at about 2hz..must be the charger function pulse chargiing the battery. Will a cigarette lighter connection supply the radio with the full voltage, and at the same time charge the battery, or does the voltage supplied equal the particular battery pack voltage? Also looking to buy a batt pack that can use AA alkaline cells. Merry Christmas... info? email me, Pat AA6EG |
