Default HELP - Kenwood TM-241A mike repair & disassembly

My Kenwood TM-241A 2-meter rig looks brand-new, but its mike has in
intermittent PTT switch. A substitute mike from my Kenwood HF rig keys up
the radio every time, and sure enough, when the TM-241A mike is failing, the
PTT contacts at the mike's wiring terminals are not closing. Rapping the
mike will restore the thing for a while, so I've eliminated the wire & plug.

Now for the question - I was hoping to completely disassemble the mike and
substitute a new PTT switch (or fix a loose wire, or whatever), but upon
inspection, this mike has 2 printed circuit boards, and the swich & wiring
in question are sandwiched between the 2 boards. Looks like a lot of posts
on the DTMF keypad board actually support the mike circuit board - they are
soldered in rows on the mike's circuit board. Do I unsolder all this
carefully, or are those posts actually plugged into sockets on the DTMF
keypad board (in which case I guess I need to pry them apart which so far
doesn;t seem to separate them at all).

So is this a socket I need to pry on harder or do I spend a long time
unsoldering this thing? Anybody with experience with this that could guide
me thru the process if I get in trouble? I'm OK with fine soldering, but
don't want to start that if there's a better way.
