Lisa And Ed Show #4
http://www.evoca.com/LisaAndEd/LisaEd & http://www.myspace.com/Lisa_And_Ed On show #4 Lisa and I talk about the Meth epidemic that plagues the United States, through poetry and discussion. The following poems were recited: Tina Put to death my former self, from poisons I consider wealth. That take away, from all my pain, and eat away my fragile brain. And sleeps become a bitter chore, So night is now my wicked whore. She keeps me hidden out of sight, away from all the blessed light. And I no longer have a choice, for Tina's now my only voice. She tells me how I should feel, she never lets my body heel. And I would crawl across the floor, for the chance to get just a little more. And I'll play my hand for the cards are dealt, until I've joined my former self! Meth Brain patterns of new. Scares embedded into your mind. Not sure if your you. Not sure of your place or your time. See shadows that move. Everything is coming alive. Not even a clue. Not even trusting your own eyes. Blisters on your tongue. You fear the sun. Liquids that you crave, Are flushed away. Kingdom come has come. Your hearts a drum. Running up the days. For rest you prey. Thin blue avenues. Antifreeze is flowing inside. Don't know your next move. Don't know if you will even try Nightmares have come true. Dr. Jeckle's now Mr. Hyde Don't know what to do. Don't know if you will live or die. Leather for your skin. Your souls worn thin. Trying to avoid. The inner void. Where did I begin. This life of sin. Am I just annoyed Or paranoid Ed~xxxx Underneath the flesh Vacant is the hole No need to confess Its out of our control Just beyond the noble rot though bitter be thy name You help me find what I forgot kept hidden from the pain And though distance smiles arriving Get caught up inside black clouds I know that we're surviving Like silver lining kept in ancient shrouds And all that I need to triumph Is the gentle voice that you provide And together we'll rely on A kind of love that's lost with pride Now I look forward to the future And all the comfort that it brings Though fresh with blood stained suture I have finally found my wings. Tame less She's a colorful bouquet of splendor, Many lives that fall apart, And come together. Her cries echo from empty bottles, Through love, and fear, And rage, and lust. A plaything betrayed, By all she trusts. Her hand and heart are objects, Of feverish pursuit. Possessed by no man, My desperation is mirrored In her lonely eyes. She will not be tamed This lovely, wild creature. (Spoken word internet radio) |
