several years ago i found an interesting looking radio at a hamfest,
it looks like a factory modified GE MPI, on the front, where you would normally see the General electric name plate is a plate that says "QEI quindar" on the back it says QEI INC. A0-057081-104 REV A 154.46375 NO SCRAM 60 fadem rd springfield NJ 07081 it has a longer than normal battery compartment, and its battery pack is a shell that takes a standard 9volt batt. below the QEI quindar nameplate on the bottom, there is a row of thumb wheel switches 4 individual on the left, and 1 on the right any of them can be thumbed to any number, i suspect this is a system address setting for an electric company. on the top of the radio there are 2 multi position rotary switches on top, kind of like a channel selector, but not. these have words at every position some of the positions are, pos. 1 = prop on 2 = 1 on 3 = 1 off 4 = 2 on 5 = 2 off 6 = 1-4 on 7 = 1-4 off 8 = 1-2 on 9 = 1-2 off 10 = erase 11 = 3 on 12 = prop off 13 = 4 on 14 = 4 off 15 = 1-3 on 16 = 1-3 off my question is, i am interested in fooling my florida power/progress energy load management box into turning things on or off momentarly, to see this thing work properly. this is the same frequency that florida power/progress energy uses and has the same data sound, i just dont think i have the right address settings on the front. other than answering that question does anyone know what the settings on the top do? |
