Is there any one in this newsgroup who has experience with repairing a
TS930 ? My unit seems to be 'deaf' although I can hear another rig which is in my shack. It started intermittent nad after a few power down/up cycles the unit worked as expected but now I can switch the rig off and on forever but it won't work anymore. Unit has sn 41xxxxx ( I know there are problems with the older sn's ) and the TX part works very well. Any ideas ? Ben. |

I don't know about the 930, but the 830 (its predecessor) had a small coil in the antenna circuit which acted as a fuse to protect the 1st RF amplifier stage. I blew out two of them in a multi single 'test in about 1983--KW amps feeding separate antennas which were nevertheless still too close together. A near lightning strike could also smoke them. -- LRod Master Woodbutcher and seasoned termite Shamelessly whoring my website since 1999 http://www.woodbutcher.net Proud participant of rec.woodworking since February, 1997 |
