It ain't _my_ gospel, which is the point. I dispute the bible has any
real value when read as a literal document. In fact, a literal reading
of such documents diminishes their true value. It was written,
translated and collected by people who have little, if anything, in
common with modern people who call themselves Christians.

Belief is important, and I'm not suggesting that a belief in a Christian
god is somehow wrong. I'm just saying that I do not see the value in
making value statements based on ancient texts that may or may not have
anything with what private citizens do in the privacy of their own home
today.

Personally, my life changes not one bit if my otherwise friendly
neighbour happens to be gay. I just don't give a **** about, and I
especially don't give a **** about what he or she does in their bedroom.
The specifics of what or whom they do things with has absolutely no
correlation with anything else about them, and it is a logical error to
think otherwise.

The fact is that most people, gay, straight or otherwise are pretty much
all the same.

These are my values, and if it sucks for you to hear them, well that is
tough for you. If these values conflict with texts that have been
compiled imperfectly over the last 4000-5000 years, then that is even
tougher for those who expect otherwise. At this does is prove to me
even more how imperfect these texts are.

Given the bone-headed quotes you've posted here that appear (at the very
least) to defend racist and sexist ideals, I don't expect to change your
mind about any of this. I do call bull**** on your illogical and
unfounded assumptions about these subjects. I reserve the right to
counter your troll-mongering with sensible rebuttal.
