possible modes. QSL via SP7DQR (by the bureau or direct). This
activity is to celebrate the first Polish amateur radio contact
to a HAM station from outside Poland in 1925. Tadeusz Heftman,
using the call SP0TPAX, made a QSO with N0PM - it was a station
from the Netherlands. A few months later, in April 1925, TPAX
made a QSO with an American HAM who was using U1AAO as a
callsign. PLEASE NOTE: Tom, SP5UAF, is look for any HAM who
perhaps has any information about the historical callsigns
N0PM or U1AAO. Contact Tom, SP5UAF, at:

SP80QSL - Look for SP80QSL to be active from December 1st through mid-
January. This activity is organized by the Warsaw District of
the PZK (Polish Amateur Radio Union). QSL via SP7DQR (by the
bureau or direct). Activity is to celebrate the founding of
the QSL Bureau in Poland. In 1925, Jan Odyniec and his brother
Stanislaw (both non-HAMs, but did a lot for HAM Radio in Poland)
founded the first QSL Bureau. Tom, SP5UAF, states, "As far as
we know it was the first QSL bureau in the world. The first
QSL bureau was helping to exchange QSL cards and it was also
designing and printing QSL cards for Polish HAMs."

TI, COSTA RICA (Correction). Phil, N0KE, reports that he had a "TYPO" in
the information he sent out about the activity from the TI5KD station
for the CQ WW DX CW Contest. In the contest, Phil plans to be active as
TI5X mainly on 15 meters. He also mentions that Alan/K0AV will be active
as TI5N on 40m (not 20m) and Martin/K2PLF will be active as TI5A on 20
meters.

be some possible SSB activity on the 20/15 meters IOTA frequencies if
conditions permit. IOTA NA-180 was opened as a new IOTA by Art and Mike
Sharp, NG7S / V31RL, in February 1993. This will be Art's 6th operation
from South Water Caye, and his 12th trip to Belize since 1988. QSL via
NN7A, by the bureau or direct to: Art Phillips, P.O. Box 201, Flagstaff,
