Default Your Favorite QRP Sites, please

Hello All,

I am soon to take my "tech" license test and would very much like my
first contact to be QRP. I know that CW is not a favorite topic of
conversation on most amateur radio newsgroups/message boards, but I find
it a fascinating mode and am eager to learn it and master it.

At 60 years of age, it has been a challenge to master the little that I
have learned.

Can you please post your favorite QRP/CW tutorial sites to assist me?
I'm also looking for recommendations for a first QRP rig, new or
previously owned.

Many thanks for taking the time to respond!

The definitive list of QRP links is at

http://www.qrparci.org/component/opt...id,23/lang,en/

If you want to have so much fun it should be illegal, plan to attend the
annual QRP gathering at Dayton

http://www.qrparci.org/content/view/1965/118/lang,en/

This is a pretty big effort for some folks, but between all the events over
the four days, it is so much fun you just can't believe it. "They say"
Thursday to Sunday, but actually the fun starts Wednesday evening, and it
pretty well wraps up Saturday night. Friday and Saturday during the day it
gets a little slow because some folks head over to some sort of thing at the
Hara Arena, but the real fun is at Fairborn.

For information on Morse, especially about learning it well enough to make
it fun, try

There is also some good building information on Chuck's page. Chuck used to
have some excellent information on the Small Wonder Labs SW+ series of QRP
rigs, any which are a very good choice as a first kit. One of the reasons
it is a great first choice is the Elmer 101 site

http://epic.mcmaster.ca/~elmer101/

To learn about rigs, people's experiences, and to see what folks have for
sale, the QRP-L reflector is the watering hole for most QRPers.

Beware ... this is a VERY BUSY email reflector. Unfortunately, you need to
sign up to see the archives. There are unofficial archives elsewhere, but I
don't have the URL.

This should keep your hunger for data fed for a while g
