Default Wireless Router EMI

I added a wireless router to my DSL modem, and I have 2 meter noise 10db
over s9.

Any one else have experience with wireless routers near radio
receivers? Any data base on EMI verses brand model?

I would make a guess that some models are better than others.

The 800 support line for my vendor was no help.

I have not ascertained if the EMI is coming out the units antenna, the
power cord or through the case. I an going to take a look at their FCC
filing data.

By the way the 2 wireless phones (digital) that I have are no problem,
but I may have lucked out with the correct brand!

While I don't have a wireless router, I do have CAT5 cable run around the
house, and the 2 meter interference is horrible on some frequencies. So, it
might not be the router's RF output but the data rate. Just a thought.

I have the same problem with CAT5 cable, too. Did some Google+Google
newsgroup searches on it. One fix is shielded CAT5 cable. Good luck,
you won't find it at your local Home Depot. The only other suggestion
was to go wireless. And the original poster had problems with that,
too.

I have heard that the power supplies in some routers
(wireless or not) are noisy. Apparently, some of them
contain "dirty" switchers, if what I heard is true.
