Default Projection TV lens ?

Do the lenses out of old projection TVs have any interesting use or value?

I take them apart and use some of the elements as large magnifying
lenses. You can have one in each room in the house ;-)

I take them apart and use some of the elements as large magnifying
lenses. You can have one in each room in the house ;-)

With a small flat mirror and light source they can become an
opaque projector...they kind used in classrooms and meetings
of not so long ago when the speaker could point to the paper
being projected.

With a high-intensity spot lamp, they can be a background "fill"
or "color wash" for outdoor Christmas decorations.

...or, collect a bunch of them and resell them, saving profits for a
wide-screen plasma screen TV. :-)

I don't suppose theirs someone/somewhere in the UK that sells these as surplus
is their ?

They sound useful for using in a long range IR/Laser link (though I'd also need
a small diverging lens for the laser).

I have: 3", 3.5", and 4.75" in diameter.
