I was thinking my next project might be some sort of 'device' that I could
put in the car.. Drive around and have a message sent back every few seconds with GPS and signal strength measurements. It would be great for testing our local repeater or antenna system. I was thinking of using something like APRS with a A2D converter to translate the signal strength from a HT. Then formulate a packet with GPS and signal strength and blast it back to a base station or just send the data to a laptop. I know there are similar commercial 'devices' for cellular and CDPD. But was wondering if any one knew of a device for ham radio use? Anyone know any devices that do something like the above or articles or schematics? Joe AG4QC |
