If you are doing SOIC, you can almost do it manhattan style. A lot of the
really interesting parts are in TSSOP. Of course, Surfboard have few TSSOP
boards, and the ones they do have are just a few pins. Heck, I can somehow
cobble an 8 pin TSSOP, what I need help on are the 24 and 28 pin jobs.

Try these. http://protoboards.theshoppe.com/
You CAN to tssop on this one.

If you are making a small number of prototype boards, go to the digikey

site

and look for "surfboards". They come in various configurations and by

using

something like wirewrap wire for jumpers between pads a lot of different
circuits can be made up quickly. I wouldn't recommend this arrangement for
upper rf but anything below 10mhz would probably work ok.

I am interested in making a simple circuit with SMT components since
the IC used comes only in SMT form. Can anyone suggest a kit that can
make PCB which is good for SMT component?

Thanks

Huh? I have used surfboards to make up all kinds of microphone preamps small
enough to fit into the microphone itself - certainly a very useful format
to have indeed!!

Not everyone is working with 24 and 28 pin IC's.

Beauty (usefulness) is in the eye of the beholder.
