I have an 422 keyer/paddle combo and had to cut the cable that goes from the
keyer to the rig. My TT has an internal keyer, but my rockmite and ohr 100a 30m does not. I had to cut it because I wanted a "remote" keyer/oscillator. I rewired the innards to a 1/8" jack and the paddle itself with a 1/8" plug so that I could leave the bulky keyer somewhere else during field day as i did not need it. I want to be able to connect the keyer to my non-internal keyer rigs. I am confused though about the cable. This is going to sound ridiculous, but, do I need a 1/8 stereo plug or a mono plug? How does the cable work if only an RCA plug is used at the keyer( shielded but that is still only two wires)? How do I assemble an RCA plug to a 1/8" plug that I am assuming needs to be hooked up for stereo? I am so confused. Any suggestions are appreciated 73 Greg |
