Meteor News: Unexpected Outburst of September Perseids (SPE) shower!
The September Perseids shower is not related to the famous August
Perseids shower, except for its radiant, which is located in the
same constellation of that of the biggest summertime shower. SPE
shower is originated by an unknown comet, and usually reaches low
ZHR at maximum. Typically, about 5 meteors per hour can be seen at
activity peak. This year, close to the predicted time for SPE maximum,
in the morning (UT) of September 9, a remarkable increase of SPE
activity over its normal annual level took place. Read more at our
MS-Propagationpage: http://www.mmmonvhf.de/ms.php

The W4NH (Fourlanders) Contest Team will be operating again from
Soco Bald in North Carolina (EM85jm). We will be doing Limited Multi
(50, 144, 222 and 432 MHz). Sorry for not having any higher bands
but a couple of key folks are not available this time and our micro
wave guru is busy renovating and moving to a new house. We will be
operating 1 KW+ power on all 4 bands with stacked beams, RX preamps,
etc. We should be loud so make sure you look our way on occasion.
The plan at the moment is to just operate CW and SSB but there is a
chance we might have WSJT available. I am waiting to hear what the
decision on that is. I will make another post if that comes to pass.

W3DHJ/r ARRL SEP VHF DM87, DM88, DM77, DM78
I hope to be out a'rovering in this weekend's contest. Right now it
looks Real Good -- but, as always, events can overtake planning.
From the opening gun on Saturday, I'll do DM88, DM87, DM77, DM78

in that order - for 6-7-8 hours -- more if CONDX (snicker) warrant.
I will rover out of my driveway late on Sat eve if there's prop.
Big Deal: DM78 -- and Fat Chance: it's Sept. On Sunday I will do
it all again. But, I'll be reversing the order: DM78, DM77, DM87,
DM88. If interested please read more in detail at
