Talk soon...Debby ZL2TDM ******* FMTAG NOTES FOR OCTOBER 2010 PROPOSALS Branch 33 Rotorua has applied for a 2 metre APRS Digipeater at Makatiti Dome, Topo50 map reference BH38 038.75 730.97. An engineering evaluation confirms that there will be no interference to other stations and that the transmit and receive frequency will be 144.575 MHz. FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS TO NZART COUNCIL Branch 26 Nelson has applied to relocate its 890 repeater to Fringed Hill North, Topo50 map reference BQ26 265.95 270.15. An engineering evaluation confirms that there will be no interference to other stations and that the repeater transmit frequency can remain on 438.900 MHz and the repeater receive frequency can remain on 433.900 MHz. Branch 71 Rodney has applied to relocate its 730 repeater to Moirs Hill Road, Topo50 map reference AZ31 475.39 625.68. An engineering evaluation confirms that there will be no interference to other stations and that the repeater transmit frequency can remain on 147.300 MHz and the repeater receive frequency can remain on 147.900 MHz. The latest versions of FMTAG Form 10, and the explanatory Form 10A, are available at: http://www.nzart.org.nz/fmtag/index.html Completed forms should be sent by e-mail to: END ******* Major Amateur Radio Survey Launched by RSGB At the National Hamfest in Newark over the weekend 1 and 2 October, the Radio Society of Great Britain will launch a major survey of all UK radio amateurs. The objective of the survey is to gather as much information as possible on 21st century amateur radio operation in the UK. The survey, which is internet based, will run for three months and the data collected will be used to determine the direction that amateur radio takes over the next 10 to 20 years. Full details of the survey will shortly appear in all elements of the amateur radio press, notices of invitation will be placed on all amateur radio reflectors and the RSGB website. If you want your opinions to be noted, please take part. ******* 2010 Oceania DX Contest A reminder that the 2010 Oceania DX contest will liven up the HF bands over the next two weekends. The aim of the contest is to promote HF contacts with stations in the Oceania region. We are expecting a good turn out from VK, ZL and YB stations, as well as stations from some of the rarer South Pacific entities. Note that Oceania stations can work other Oceania and non-Oceania stations.
