Lubbock Frequency Swap Planned For December 18

Barton Broadcasting and Ramar Commmunications will pull off a frequency
swap on Friday, December 18. The two companies agreed to exchange the
licenses of Sports Double T 104.3 KTTU-FM Brownfield and Tejano Power 106.5
KEJS Lubbock in August. Surprisingly neither station is promoting where
they are moving. Banner ads on all of Ramars station websites simply state
Your Favorite Radio Station Is Moving Friday December 18 with a
sponsorship. KEJSs Facebook page shows a countdown. As Barton will only own
104.3, KEJS Tejano format with definitely be moving to that frequency. What
Ramar will be doing with their stations is

Station Sales After 99.7 KHLT-FM Belle Plaine/Wichita KS was returned from
Air Capitol Media Group to Daniel Smiths Bad Gas Broadcast for forgiveness
of $1,363,117.61 in debt in August, Smith is selling the station to La
Raza, Inc for $1.65 million. The buyer has been operating KHLT-FM via LMA
since Smith regained control of the license as Regional Mexican La Raza
99.7. Calvary Chapel of Lynchburg has agreed to purchase Country Big
Country 105.3 WBNN-FM Dillwyn VA from WKGM Inc. for $90,000. Calvary Chapel
of Lynchburg has applied to convert WBNN-FM to non-commercial status where
it will join the buyers

Geraldo Rivera Sues Cumulus Over WABC Exit

Geraldo Rivera has followed through on his threats and is suing Cumulus
Media over not honoring a handshake agreement he made with former Chairman
Lew Dickey to extend his contract for an additional year. Bloomberg reports
that Rivera was e-mailed by Executive Vice President John Dickey on
September 30 stating, Thanks Geraldo. I admire your work and your loyalty.
Glad you will be covering the election on 77 WABC next year Lew and John
Dickey were fired the previous day with Mary Berner being named the new
