CBS Radio Makes End Of Year Cuts

In addition to leasing 99.1 WNEW Bowie MD to Bloomberg and letting go of
the majority of that stations staffers, CBS Radio has been making cuts at
clusters around the country. Among the staffers we can confirm are out are
Brian Monty Montgomery, the morning host at Country Y108 WDSY-FM
Pittsburgh. Montgomery had been in mornings at WDSY since 1993. His former
co-host Jimmy Roach had been let go in the company-wide cuts made this past
summer. Also exiting the Pittsburgh cluster is Mike Flick, the
APD/MD/Afternoon host at Hot AC 100.7 Star WBZZ. Co-host Kelly Langenohl
will remain as

WTVR Richmond To Relaunch As Mix 98.1

At the end of the Christmas season, iHeartMedias Christmas 98.1 WTVR-FM
Richmond will relaunch as Mix 98.1 on Monday, December 28. The new Mix 98.1
resurrects the branding well-known in the market from its time on 103.7
WMXB (now WURV) through 2010. The new brand will feature a number of
personalities long known in the Richmond market. Former CHR Q94 WRVQ
morning host Jeff Wicker, most recently at Entercom Variety Hits 98.7 Simon
WSMW Greensboro will host mornings. Former WMXB morning co-host Jackie
Cunningham with ex-husband Bender will host 9am to 12pm. She most recently
was hosting mornings at Hubbard

DC All News Battle Comes To End As CBS Leases 99.1 WNEW To Bloomberg

The nearly four year attempt by CBS to create a competitor to Hubbards
market-leading News 103.5 WTOP Washington has come to an end as the company
has leased 99.1 WNEW Bowie MD to Bloomberg Radio. Bloomberg abruptly took
over WNEWs programming at 10:00am this morning as Bloomberg 99.1
105.7-HD2. The 105.7 WJZ-HD2 signal is for enhanced Baltimore coverage.
This becomes Bloombergs fourth over-the-air market. The company owns 1130
WBBR New York and leases iHeartMedias 960 KNEW San Francisco and 1200 WXKS
Boston. Most of the previous local news staff will exit with the lease of
WNEW as well as

Station Sales Sunnylands Broadcasting sells AC 95.9 Star-FM KRSX Goldendale
WA/The Dalles OR to Gorge Country Media for $100,000. Haystack
Broadcasting, who had been operating KRSX via LMA, is assigning its LMA and
agreement to purchase the station to Gorge Country Media. After nearly ten
years of leasing Spanish Christian Genesis 680 WGES St. Petersburg FL,
Vision Communications Network is acquiring the station from ZGS
Broadcasting for between $550,000 and $610,000 depending on how quickly
they pay off the promissory note. Manna Christian Missions sells Christian
1350 WCRM Fort Myers FL to Aaron Howards Genesis Multi Media for $450,000.

Five Lubbock Stations Move To New Frequencies

The Barton/Ramar format shuffle will take place at 10:00am today with five
stations moving to new frequencies. With Barton closing on the swap of
106.5 KEJS Lubbock for 104.3 KTTU-FM Brownfield the most straightforward
portion of the swap as KEJSs Tejano format moves to 104.3 as Power 104.3.
Ramar is getting a little more complex with its side. KTTU-FMs Sports

1430 KEZW Denver To Assume Cruisin Oldies Format

Entercom has announced that it will combine the formats of Cruisin Oldies
950 KRWZ and Soft AC/Standards Studio 1430 KEZW Denver on Sunday, December
27. The announcement comes following Entercoms announcement earlier today
that it will sell KRWZ to KSE Media Ventures. Cruisin 1430 will focus on
music from the 1950s and 60s with an airstaff made up of employees of both
stations. Entercom announced today that on Sunday, December 27th, Entercom
Denver will introduce the new Cruisin’ Oldies 1430 AM. The New Cruisin’
1430 AM will be the best of Cruisin’ and KEZW and will deliver the best
