Two of the translators seeking to move to Detroit are applying for modified frequencies. Crawford Broadcasting and Salem Media both originally applied for 101.5, however each are now seeking new frequencies. Crawford applies to move 105.3 W287CI Sheboygan WI to 96.7 rebroadcasting 1340 WEXL Royal Oak, while Salem seeks to place 95.9 W240CO Charlotte MI on 95.9 in Detroit rebroadcasting 1400 WDTK Detroit. Another MX removal is in Richmond VA, where Radio Richmond now applies for 95.9 W240BE Newport OH to go to 101.3 instead of 107.7. That leaves Delmarva Educational Associations application for 106.7 W294BO Concord VA rebroadcasting 590 WLES Bon Air as the sole applicant for 107.7. Alexandra Communicationss Spanish AC Exitos 93.7 KRKG-FM Pasco applied in 2013 for a move to 100.1 with no changes to its current 450w/361m facilities. That application included a Show Cause order forcing Westend Radios AC 100.1 The Q KQFM to make the reverse move to 93.7 with its existing 5.3kw/94m facilities. This marks the third time KQFM has been ordered to change frequencies. The station began on 99.3, moved to 100.5 in 2000 and then 100.1 in 2010 in moves initiated by stations in other markets to upgrade their signals. In his role Knight will oversee content and brand strategies for the companys 21 stations in Boston, Charlotte, Detroit, New Jersey and Philadelphia. Knight has been with Greater Media since 2002 and previously programmed Rock stations such as WZLX Boston, WNOR Norfolk and WLVQ Columbus. Greater Media announces Buzz Knight has been promoted to senior vice president of Program Development. In his role, Knight is responsible for overseeing programming development for all of Greater Media’s radio properties and collaborating with the individual stations to build winning content, digital and brand management strategies. “Buzz has done an outstanding job overseeing our programming brands across the company over the past 14 years,” said Greater Media Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peter H. Smyth. “His insight and leadership plays an important role in the continued success of our company.” Its amazing to wake up every day to meet the challenges and opportunities of our business working for such a crown jewel of a company as Greater Media,” said Knight. “Im grateful to Peter Smyth and the Bordes family for their continued support. Knight has been with Greater Media since February 2002. Prior to that, he worked as Program Director at several stations including: CBS Boston based classic rock WZLX, Saga Communications rock WNOR in Norfolk and Great American’s Active Rock WLVQ in Columbus, Ohio. In addition, the radio veteran spent three years on air as part of the legendary WNEW-FM in New York City. Knight launched his broadcasting career at WRKI in Fairfield County, Connecticut after graduating from the University of Dayton. The radio programming veteran is a member of the Council for Research Excellence (CRE), where he currently serves as the chair of the CRE Audio Committee. In addition, Knight is a member of the Nielsen Advisory Council and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) COLRAM Committee. He has also served on the programming subcommittee of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). Greater Media, Inc. is the parent company of 21 AM and FM radio stations in the Boston, Charlotte, Detroit, New Jersey and Philadelphia markets. The company also owns a group of weekly newspapers in central New Jersey and several telecommunications towers located throughout the United States.
