/////////////////////////////////////////// Richmond County Ham Radio Club Learns About 'Fox Hunt': Posted: 21 Feb 2016 03:54 AM PST http://www.eham.net/articles/36216 ROCKINGHAM -- The February monthly meeting of the Richmond County Amateur Radio Club welcomed a guest speaker, Rusty George of Cheraw, a member of the South Carolina Palmetto Amateur Linking System. George provided rules and regulations pertaining to a possible future participation in what the amateur radio operators would call a "fox hunt." Using hand-held radios, antennae setups and a number of competing two-party teams considered the "hounds," the ultimate goal would be for the hounds to find a two-party team with a hidden transmitter, the "fox." Not only would this be used as a fun activity for the club to pursue, but would also serve as a learning tool for searching transmissions on a network. |
