CBS confirmed the exit with by stating that he is no longer with the station and that various station personalities will fill in during the afternoon show until a new host is announced. Innes joined WIP in 2013 for nights before moving to afternoons in January 2015. The move is interestingly timed with a controversy at Greater Medias 97.5 The Fanatic WPEN-FMs afternoon host Mike Missanelli. Prolific caller Dwyane From Swedesboro, a supposed black man was revealed to be producer Pat Egan in character. Innes had been very vocal over the incident both on-air and online. Innes and Missanelli had an incident last summer at Philadelphia Eagles training camp which required the two to be separated by team security. /////////////////////////////////////////// WBZX Brings Beautiful Music To Big Rapids Posted: 24 Aug 2016 10:27 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...to-big-rapids/ Max Henry Associates has signed on Beautiful 104 103.9 WBZX Big Rapids MI. The new station debuted at 12:30 this afternoon promoting Beautiful Music for Big Rapids. The station is in the process of being sold to Up North Radio for $21,000 but the Construction Permit was set to expire on Saturday, August 27 requiring the station to launch prior to the closing of the sale. A website and stream are forthcoming. Upon consummation of the sale it will join Up North Radios Hot AC 107.9 WCDY McBain/Cadillac. They are also in the process of acquiring Classic Rock 107.1 WCKC Cadillac. /////////////////////////////////////////// Beasley Shells Out Big Bucks For Las Vegas Translator Posted: 24 Aug 2016 07:06 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...as-translator/ Beasley Media is adding another signal in Las Vegas as it agrees to purchase 101.5 K268CS Las Vegas from Southern Nevada Educational Broadcasters for $700,000. The translator currently rebroadcasts co-owned Christian Talk 1060 KKVV, which has a CP to relocate 97.3 K247AX Tonopah NV to 99.9 in North Las Vegas as part of the AM Revitalization. Beasley states in the sale contract that it will use the translator to rebroadcast 102.7 KCYE-HD2 Boulder City. K268CS currently covers the southern portions of the Las Vegas market, but holds a CP to relocate to KKVVs tower with 250w/57m, where it will provide coverage of the entire city and adjacent suburbs. /////////////////////////////////////////// Midwest Acquires Five From Red Rock Radio Posted: 23 Aug 2016 06:37 PM PDT https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...ed-rock-radio/ Midwest Communications is acquiring five Minnesota stations and three translators from Red Rock Radio for an undisclosed amount. Midwest will acquire Classic Rock 95 KQDS 94.9 KQDS-FM Duluth MN and its simulcasters 95.3 WXXZ Grand Marais and 106.7 KAOD Babbitt as well as Country Z96.1 KGPZ Coleraine/Grand Rapids, AC 97.9 WEVE-FM Eveleth/Virginia and its three translators: 92.1 W221AU Virginia, 98.3 W252AN Hibbing, and 105.5 W288AI Ely. KQDS-FM will join Midwests existing 3 AMs and 3 FMs in the Duluth/Superior market, while KGPZ and WEVE-FM join Midwests existing 2 AMs and 4 FMs in the nearby Hibbing market. After the sale of KQDS-FM, Red Rock will still retain 1 AM, 2 FMs, and 1 TV in the Duluth market. Midwest Communications has agreed to acquire five outlets and three translators in Minnesota from Red Rock Radio Corp. Terms were not immediately disclosed. Included in the deal are 100kW KQDS-FM (94.9)/Duluth, 100kW WEVE-FM (97.9)/Eveleth, 100kW KGPZ-FM (96.1)/Coleraine, 63kW WXXZ-FM (95.3)/Grand Marais and 33kW KAOD-FM (106.7)/Babbitt along with affiliated translators W252AN/Hibbing, W288AI/Ely and W221AU/Virginia. Midwest Communications is a Wisconsin-based company headed by Duke Wright and owns 73 radio stations throughout Tennessee, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Minnesota. Red Rock Radio, is a Minnesota-based company headed by Kathy Lau and Shawn Skramstad and owns 24 radio stations in Minnesota. Kalil Co., Inc. is the broker for this transaction. |
