/////////////////////////////////////////// Review: CW's 'Frequency' is Ham-Fisted Time-Bending Tale: Posted: 04 Oct 2016 05:02 PM PDT http://www.eham.net/articles/37690 Time traveling or time talking: On TV, you run the same risks. Like the movie on which it's based, Frequency does not send anyone hurtling back and forth through time -- which is one big thing that distinguishes this CW sci-fi drama from NBC's similarly themed Timeless. Instead of jumping around various timelines, the characters here talk across them, interacting only through an old ham radio. (And how convenient that the family kept that old ham radio in the garage all those decades, but never mind.) Yet you're still left with the same old time-travel tensions, thrills and dilemmas. Present-day cop Raimy Sullivan (Peyton List, who is very good here) may not travel back in time to fiddle with past events, but she tells her late father Frank (Riley Smith) what he should do to change them, which amounts to the same thing. Oh, and causes the same problems, both for themselves and the show. Raimy is a New York detective, living in the dark shadow of her father, a crooked undercover cop (or so she thinks) who was killed in 1996 when she was only eight years old. She's tried to follow her mentor's (ER's Mekhi Phifer) advice and forget her father, but the pain runs so deep, she even gets mad at her sweet fiance Daniel (Daniel Bonjour) when he fixes dad's long-dormant ham radio. /////////////////////////////////////////// Impulse Electronics Introduces New TERA DMR Commercial Radio: Posted: 04 Oct 2016 05:02 PM PDT http://www.eham.net/articles/37689 Escondido, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/04/2016 -- Impulse Electronics is proud to add the new TERA TR-7400 Digital DMR UHF 1024 Channel Handheld Commercial Radio to their already stellar lineup of radio products, powerpole connectors/supplies/sources, fuses, wires, tools, and other electronic equipment.
