This may not be the correct location, if not please move to correct forum.
I have only been a ham for a few months and just got my general ticket a
few weeks ago. Tuning around this weekend I stumbled into the cqdxssb
contest. Listening to the exchanges it took me a little bit to understand
the reports were including the zone at the end of the signal report. I
only have a few qsos in my book so I started looking at the map and when I
heard someone in a zone that I had not worked, I...

Eugeny Ri1FJ suddenly showed up on the air late June. I have no e-mail
communication with the Island, as there are no
post/telephone/transportation services there, but company satellite
forbidden for private use. I was neither notified by Eugeny of his QRV, nor
about problems he had during this season. The only thing I know, - its him
who signs RI1FJ, as many hams wroked him reported this.

Stone Mountain, GA Hamfest this weekend! (Shameless commercial plug)

This weekend is the Stone Mountain, GA Hamfest, which also happens to be
the ARRL GA state convention. I will be speaking at noon on Saturday
on "Keeping the Amateur in Amateur Radio," a rather iconoclastic talk in
which I will likely lose any semblance of credibility Ive managed to
accumulate over the past 40 years. But it will be fun.



Hope to see some of you there, and a special thanks to Jim Massara, N2EST,
who made this all possible for me.
