EMF will purchase 104.3 WNLT Delhi Hills/Cincinnati OH, 102.3 WKLN Wilmington OH and 95.3 WVRB Wilmore/Lexington KY from Vernon R. Baldwin Inc. for $7,107,000. WNLT and WVRB have been affiliated with EMFs K-Love Christian AC network since January 1, 2001 and WKLN since June 2003. Following the sale, Vernon R Baldwin Inc. will retain Southern Gospel 1560 WCNW Fairfield/Cincinnati and Conservative Talk/Sports 1450 The Ticket WMOH Hamilton OH. /////////////////////////////////////////// John Beck Joins iHeartMedia As St. Louis Market President Posted: 12 Feb 2021 07:25 AM PST https://radioinsight.com/headlines/2...ket-president/ Longtime Emmis St. Louis General Manager John Beck is joining iHeartMedias cluster as Market President. Beck joined 94.7 KSHE as General Manager in 1984 and stayed through multiple acquisitions as Market President until Emmis sold their cluster to Entercom and Hubbard in 2018. He is co-owner of Stone Canyon Media Groups cluster in Flagstaff AZ and filed to purchase 101.5 K268CT Saint Peters MO from Kaspar Broadcasting for $450,000 in February 2020, but the acquisition never closed. iHeartMedia St. Louis announced today that John Beck has been named Market President, effective immediately. iHeartMedia St. Louis has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing more than seven stations comprised of music, talk and news formats. iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Market President, Beck will work closely with the programming, business, and sales teams and oversee all of the stations on-air and digital programming as well as create new revenue opportunities. He will report to Tony Coles, Division President for iHeartMedia Markets Group. John is one of the most respected leaders in St. Louis, said Coles. His track record of success, reputation for building a winning culture, and his deep roots in both the media and advertising communities are only a few of the many reasons we are thrilled to have John leading our team. Beck is a media veteran with more than 30 years of radio industry experience. He joins iHeartMedia St. Louis from Emmis Communications, where he most recently served as the Senior Vice President, overseeing multiple stations success including St. Louis heritage rock station, KSHE. He began his career at WFFM in Pittsburgh and studied at The University of Steubenville, Ohio, where he majored in Political Science and Psychology. Beck is also an active voice in the broadcasting industry. He served as the President of the Missouri Broadcasters Association (MBA) from 1999-2000 and currently serves as its Legislative Affairs Committee Chairmen. Beck also served on the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) board for six years and sat on the NAB Executive Committee as the Radio Board First Vice-Chair from 2012 through 2014. He was also inducted into the St. Louis Radio Hall of Fame in 2017 and received the 2017 Chairmans award by the NABPAC Lifetime Achievement Award by Heat-Up Cool-Down St. Louis. In addition, Beck is also heavily involved in his community, working closely with many non-profit businesses. Locally, until its reorganization in January 2021, he served on the board of the St. Louis Regional Chamber, The Leukemia Lymphoma Society, The American Red Cross, Heat-Up Cool Down St. Louis, The Foundation Board of St. Louis Childrens Hospital, the Magic House, Grace Hill, Character-Plus, the Downtown St. Louis Community Improvement District and the March of Dimes. /////////////////////////////////////////// Mark Kaye To Depart WAPE's Morning Mess To Focus On WOKV Talk Show Posted: 12 Feb 2021 07:14 AM PST https://radioinsight.com/headlines/2...okv-talk-show/ After fourteen years leading The Big Ape Morning Mess on Cox Media Group CHR 95.1 WAPE Jacksonville, Mark Kaye will exit the show on Friday, February 19 to focus exclusively on his 10am-12pm show on News/Talk 104.5 WOKV-FM. Kaye joined WAPE in 2007 and has been teamed with Meghan Lane since 2014. Prior to Jacksonville, he hosted mornings at Hot 99.5 WIHT Washington DC and B98.5 WBBO Ocean Acres NJ. He added the talk show on WOKV in 2017 and expanded it to two hours in January 2019. Segments of the show air on weekends on the Conservative NewsMaxTV network. Mark Kaye, morning co-host of 95.1 WAPE’s The Big Ape Morning Mess announced today that he will be transitioning over to WAPE’s sister news station WOKV-FM to focus exclusively on his talk show, The Mark Kaye Show beginning on Monday, February 22. His final day at WAPE will be on Friday, February 19. “I am so grateful to have had so many incredible opportunities at one amazing company”, said Kaye. “Now, as I say goodbye to mornings on WAPE to concentrate full-time on WOKV, I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every single minute of the last 15 years.” Kaye joined WAPE for mornings in 2007, and current co-host Meghan Lane partnered with Kaye in 2014. In 2015 he rolled out “Kaye’s Kids” a program where he would buy technology and dream gifts for local kids battling life-threatening illness. Kaye made the leap to talk radio in December of 2017 creating The Mark Kaye Show on WOKV-FM. The show was such a hit, he expanded it to two hours Monday through Friday in January of 2019. “Mark’s impactful presence was truly felt during his time on WAPE. Icon Broadcasting sells Country 99.3 The Bull WQDK Gatesville NC to Joe Hartmann Jr.s JWH Broadcasting to $185,000. A Time Brokerage Agreement will take effect on March 1. Sierra Nevada Christian Music Association sells Christian CHR 101.3 The Renegade KRNG Fallon/Reno NV to Juan Rodriguezs Biggest Little Radio for $193,000. Rodriguez has operated KRNG via Time Brokerage Agreement since January 2017.
