I know this is only tangentially connected to amateur radio.
But a majority of us still do a bit of bench work now and then. From the small sliver of the workbench visible in this photo, the workbench must look like a rat's nest. It's supposed to. |

Not including the forklift. There was another 1/3 of a 53' van involved bringing the rest of it out here. While lead melts around 650 F, it doesn't boil (vaporize) until at least 1400 F. What you're smelling is the rosin flux. And yes, that stuff ain't healthy for you. (See UK Safety bulletin ![]() |
