Smelling a profit opportunity in the confusion of competing protocols, entrepreneurs are working on a single transceiver that does them all. But with many protocols come many networks. Incompatible networks and with the fraternity fractured, enthusiasts of one or more of these modes make regular use of personal hotspots to access those networks. Bing! Yet another market for unification. Enter the multi-protocol hotspot. One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them One ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them DV is the digital equivalent of the Wild West in our hobby right now. Some find that disconcerting while others see it as high adventure. If youre in the latter group then buckle-up, hang-on, and enjoy the ride. Weve only just begun to tame the digital hinterlands! |
