Icom IC-705 with Icom Remote and WSJT-X

I had an email from an operator who was having some trouble setting up
WSJT-X with the Icom Remote Software and IC-705 so I thought I would
continue the series of setup guides with this one for WSJT-X.




Not all of the software we use supports the Icom IC-705 but fortunately the
latest version of WSJT-X does so this setup is quite simple.








First power up your IC-705 and make sure its providing a wifi network and
your computer is connected to it or is connected to the same wifi network
as your computer.








Run Icom remote and make sure its connected to the radio. it should look
like the screen grab above. Note the Virtual COM Port Number that you
picked when you set up the software.








Open the settings in WSJT-X and select the Radio tab. For the Rig select
IC-705, for the Serial Port select the COM Port you configured as the
Virtual COM port in the Icom Remote software. Other settings as in my
screenshot above.








Finally select the Audio tab and for input and output select the
ICOM_VAUDIO devices.




These settings all work with my Surface Pro 7 and Surface Go 2 running
WSJT-X and Icom Remote software.
