Actually, some ninnies abandoned this newsgroup. In the end, I don't
see that they did much to try to improve the place, they just decided
to go behind the shield of moderation.

What you are creating is cause, rather than effect. Steer people elsewhere
and of course this newsgroup is abandoned. But that's because the only
people left are the junk posters. When there's nothing to respond to,
since you are trying to steer people away, then that kills the newsgroup.
