Default Germany Next?

According to recent posts in de.comm.ham, Germany will abolish the code
test on the 6th of August, by a notice published in issue number 15 of the
official journal to be published on the 30th of July. Apparently, this
appeared in 'Funkamateur' magazine.

This thread doesn't seem to be appearing on uk.radio.amateur (at least not
on my server)?

Two down, about to become three.

Avalanches start with just a few grams of snow, then build under
gravity pull until there are tons of the stuff burying and destroying
all in its path.

All the ingrained self-importance of the procoders will be buried,
life-as-they-know-it destroyed in the avalanche of progress.

The change of S25.5 is like a "Weapon of Morse Destruction."

Thanks, Rainer. I would post there, but I am better at reading German than
writing it!

The German administration had already been on public record as stating
that they would eliminate Morse tests if the WRC eliminated the intl.
requirement.

Perhaps the confusion arises from the fact that a survey of German hams showed
a strong majority of those responding favored keeping the Morse requirement. Of
course, just like in the USA, the govt. is not required to do what the majority
wants on an issue like code testing.
