I wonder how many of
those who "would not go near HF under any circumstances" will suddenly now
change their minds. Or am I just an old cynic??!

That's funny, I posed that question not too long ago. There are a few (Two
immediately come to mind.) NCT's who claimed that they could upgrade anytime
they chose, but were "entirely satisfied" with 50 MHz and up and really had
no use for HF. Wonder how long they'll remain Technicians or will a /AG or
/AE magically appear behind their calls all of a sudden?

We shall watch with interest. Meanwhile, remember nothing can stop you

USING
CW, but you won't need it any more for a UK licence. The plethora of
callsigns does not change though. So, welcome to HF. I wonder how many of
those who "would not go near HF under any circumstances" will suddenly now
change their minds. Or am I just an old cynic??!

You are not a cynic as you've hit the reality nail squarely on the head.
