The Republicans stole the election, right? Lets not even go down that street again. Dan/W4NTI |

I worked for Senator McCains dad, Admiral John McCain II, when he was CincPAC and John III was a guest at the Hanoi Hilton. Later I worked for Capt Dick Stratton, a fellow 'guest' in Hanoi, and met John III on a couple of occasions. Him, I trust. Fair enough! 73 de Jim, N2EY Well I don't trust a man that can't figure out what party he is in. McCain is a Republican in name only. Dan/W4NTI |

I disagree with that comment Brian. He didn't fail. The government failed him by forcing the pilots to fly the pocket. No deviation. No way to not get hit. It was stupid. All McCain did was follow orders. Dan/W4NTI |

Getting caught..?!?! perhaps not. The "Commander-in-Chief" material comes from the strength of character it took to not fold to interrogator's deamnds, to have not lost faith with his comrades, and that he came home alive despite the ordeal. Yes...John McCain is an American Hero. Several times over... And MY respect for the current Commander-in-Chief comes from the fact that, wether you agree with him or not, when he's in the news, it's about the business of the nation...Not who he's "doing" on the sly or what nefarious deals his spouse is engaged in. Had Billary stood up to the first accusations against him (protesting the Viet Nam war while in England) and said, "Yes, I protested the war. It was my right to do so as a citizen", even the most right-wing Hawks would have had to give him credit as being truthful. He didn't...he tried to lie his way out of it and was proven to be a liar. Every SUBSEQUENT accusation that erupted also had the opportunity for him to "stand up" and be counted, but he tried to lie his way out of those, too. Our present Commander-in-Chief may not be the smoothest orator or do everything "right", but I have far greater respect for a man who can try, fail, and admit to it than one who tries to lie his way out of his actions. Steve, K4YZ Exactly....if that Klintoon Klown would have showed a bit of back bone, and slapped the crap out of Hillary he would have earned my respect. I remember how he treated the military....and how the vets turned their backs on him at Arlington. Etc. Etc. Now we have a man in charge. Not perfect, but a man none the less. Dan/W4NTI |

Lowest Common Denominator. That, more than anything else, will wreck this country. Blowhard libs have tried soooo hard to wreck this country. That lets me off the hook - I'm certainly not one of them. They've nearly succeeded, but there are still a few people who give a damn about America, and GW is one of them. Phil, after 8 years of dealing with a president who was willing to commit our Armed Forces to battle without giving a drat about "them", it's a breath of fresh air to have one who would do this. Heheheeee ... Phil, I know you're an attourney and I suspect you have tried a couple of cases in your lifetime. Yep, there are two sides to every story. (good story on selective assessment clipped) Lovely country, eh? Of course the other side of the coin is where the voters get fed up with paying for what they expect the state and local governments to give them and enact a cap on property tax increases which also includes a provision that when a property changes hands out of the immediate family it is assessed at the sale price. California calls this Proposition 13 and Oregon calls it Measure 5. We got whacked when my family bought a house in California before the provision went in but after the cut-off date when the assessments were "referenced back". For 10 years we lived in a house that was identical in size, age, and condition to the house next door, and we paid twice as much taxes as they did. Lovely country. eh ? You're so right. -- 73 de K2ASP - Phil Kane |
