K1man broadcasts are NOT like W1AW bulletins as
the fat "MAN" claims. The W1AW bulletins last 10 minutes. They are on ONCE a day, weekdays only. IF they interfere with existing QSO's it last only 10 minutes. Nothing anyone would get ****ed about. However, k1man, likes to say he is "just like" W1AW... well he isn't. His "broadcasts" last 1 1/2 hours, several times a day!!!. So, he is NOT like the W1AW bulletins. He is just an amateur wannabee broadcaster and egotist that thinks he found a "loophole" in the FCC rules, and uses the W1AW bulletins as an excuse. Hey...given this precedent, why couldn't any ham have a 24/7 broadcast on ham radio! Just call it a "bulletin" The call in talk show is an option. It's time to limit bulletin broadcasts to what W1AW has been doing for their 90+ year history and keep bulletins to 10 minutes and once a day. This should please K1man, the belgrade *******, and ensure that he IS JUST LIKE W1AW. 73, Chuck...K1KW |

Send it in to the FCC as a Petition for Rulemaking, then, if and when it comes out as an NPRM, I'll provide favorable comments in support of the new rule. Baxter is obviously driving a tractor-trailer rig thru a skateboard-sized loophole. Considering the fact that the majority of radio amateurs now get their amateur radio- related "news" via the internet, K1MAN can hardly justify his self-indulgent waste of spectrum. At the very least, he should be time-limited in the manner you suggest. I'd much prefer that he was simply given a Cease And Desist order from the FCC. 73 de Larry, K3LT |
