Default Can I get my old WN6 call back?

OK... forgive me if this is the wrong place for this, and/or it's been =
asked before...

I used to have a novice class license back in the early seventies that I =
let run out. I'm interested in becoming a ham again, and I wondered if I =
could still get my old callsign back.

Via the vanity callsign program, yes. This assumes nobody else holds
it, which
seems unlikely in your case. But you need to get a ham license first.
The FCC
will assign you some random callsign first. Then you can trade that in
for the
vanity callsign. It does cost something like $20 for every ten years
thereafter
(the FCC marks your license as vanity, so they know to charge money
again).

Once you become licensed again, you can apply for your old call under the
vanity program. If no one else has it, you would be able to get it assigned
to you. But first you must get a current license and call.

TNX,

Sofa:

Just plug the old call sign into QRZ.com, and see if it is available. If so,
you can request it as a Vanity Call Sign. You can find the details on how to
do that right on that site, or you can Czech out ARRL.org.
