![]() bb wrote: """ What is the logic behind your answer?""" Must my answer confrom to liberal logic? As you seem to believe, character does count. So, Michael, please name one liberal (or "democrat") organization that promotes character in boys and yound men? I know lots of Democrats that support the Boy Scouts, and lots of independents. Wunnerful. I know lots of people, too! That is NOT THE ISSUE! Why was the BSA booed at the """DNC Convention""" while they brought out the American Flad and recited the Pledge of Allegiance? Why??? """You take what SOME people who align themselves with the Democrats do and apply that to the whole.""" ABSO-FRIGGIN-LUTELY!!! Every Democrat has to accept responsibility for that act. Were they Mujahadeen??? And I take what happened at the DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL ____CONVENTION 0___ to represent the Democratic PARTY!!! If you don't like it, find a new party. """That is a losing game, as there are segments of Republicans that are similarly fringy.""" Oh, my. People that believe in God. Wonder if Jews beieve in God? Wonder if Palistinians believe in God? Wonder if Methodists believe in God? Wonder if Rev Jim believes in God? It's just so awful that there are still luddites that believe in God. NYT says "God is Dead!" But we must have a Palestinian State because Allah wants it. I wish you the very best of luck on that one, and I do hope that you succeed. """So it is okay to be corrupt as long as you are a Republican. Good to see where exactly you are coming from.""" WTF did that come from? Must be somekindof Al Franken spagmasm??? Wonder where Geneen Giraffala weighed in on that one??? Anyhow, you failed to name a single liberal youth organization that promotes character. And I know why that is. It's so friggin easy to know why that is. C'mon liberal Mike. Ask me why it's so easy to know that. C'mon, ask why!!! - Mike KB3EIA - Mike, I noticed that you failed to list any liberal organization that was pro character building. "Reply" Oh, my! 2004 becoming 2005. My 10YO Cub Scouts/America son just got an Eddie Bauer 0 deg sleeping bag. And he earned his just "readyman" badge and knows the basics of first aid. Maybe someday he'll hike-in and save your liberal ass. I don't give a rat's patooie about your mindless little joust with Coslo here but I do care about the Boy Scouts. Or I used to and I have some insghts on the topic you don't have Burke. Which might explain a few things which go on 'way over your head as usual. My senior brother of two of 'em was the CEO of the local BSA Council about five years ago and engineered the merger of our suburban Council, the one we both grew up in, with the next-over failing big city council. That noteworthy maneuver raised hackles galore out here in our lilly white Rebublican WASP 'burbs of course but it saved what was left of the broken city council, a seemingly impossible management coup given the politics involved. Which in turn got the attention of the mahouts who rule scouting at the national level. He was forwith invited to join the national board of directors. I asked him why he declined the invitation. I can't quote his words directly but they went something like: "I have no interest in trying to work with a bunch of Dallas 'silent majority' type Bible-pounders hellbent on imposing their "visions" on scouting." 'Bye w3rv Weblos Star Scout, 100% secular troop (try to find one of those today) Seven year camper (Eddie Bauer bags? Bwaaahaha! A couple 50 cent itchy WW2 army surplus wool blankets) God & Country medal Order of the Arrow 43 merit badges (including the radio badge. Had to know the code and had to build a real radio that worked, no kits allowed.) Junior Assistant Scoutmaster Explorer Post Advisor .. . . Yadda, yadda . . |

I wonder why they want to change that standard? The immediate purpose is to get Tom DeLay out of his ethics situation. What has that to do with Amateur Radio Policy in the USA? Goes to the mindset of the administration in power. Did DeLay's name come up on Riley Hollingsworth's latest List? Perhaps you'd like something more directly connected to FCC rules and regulations for the amateur radio service: Lenof21 previously wrote: All licensees are perfectly legal to continue operating in their grace period. That's simply not true. To quote FCC rules: "97.21(b) A person whose amateur station license grant has expired may apply to the FCC for renewal of the license grant for another term during a 2 year filing grace period. The application must be received at the address specified above prior to the end of the grace period. Unless and until the license grant is renewed, no privileges in this Part are conferred." Last sentence says it all: "Unless and until the license grant is renewed, no privileges in this Part are conferred." FCC amateur licenses have 10 year terms, and if a license is allowed to expire without a renewal application being filed, the licensee *cannot* legally operate until the license is renewed. Do you agree or disagree, Len? You also wrote: There is no necessity (nor sense) to eliminate those in the grace period from those in the normal 10-year license period from any class totals. Sure there is - their licenses are expired and they cannot operate. If you want to include expired-but-in-the-grace-period licensees in the totals, go right ahead. But be sure to indicate that you are doing so, unless *you* want to "massage" the numbers. |

Excellent! That they reversed that indictment rule is a surprise, but face it, they were getting a huge black eye over this M.A.N. -- The Gods Must Be Friggin' CRAZY! Yes, indeed! - Mike KB3EIA - |
