Herr Kommandant lives in an on-off world, either key down or key up. He can't seem to negotiate understanding the in-between. :-) Herr Kommandant? Godwin invoked. You lose. You certainly haven't described me. As one who enjoys playing music, particularly blues and jazz, I'm quite at home with flatted notes. I can also tell the subtle differences in a variety of prigs. """Tell us about amateur radio's role in an emergency.""" They should do whatever they can with whatever they've got. Correct. That would be logical. Quite right, Spock. However, das Kommandant bin a morseman for four decades and can't understand that the amateurs "will" take over when the government-commercial infrastructure fails in an emergency. Are you certain that the above reads the way you intended? Some say that the infrastructure "always" fails. :-) Hardwired communications infrastructure is much more likely to fail. All cellular phones interface to wire lines at some point. """I want to hear once again about how all of the infrastructure is never destroyed.""" Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. Why do you say, "never?" Der Kommandant ich bin ****ed, he troll and troll his boot but all his bouyancy tanks are flooded. I have no idea what that is supposed to mean, Leonard. """The story I posted is in direct conflict with the song sung by you and your newsgroup mentor.""" Dave K8MN Sorry, David, but I'm not very musical. I did sing "RockyRaccoon" once after ingesting some bad branch water. I feel much better now. Der Kommandant wants to be Daddy Warbucks and have everyone sing "Tomorrow" from the musical "Annie." Unfortunately, the sun DID come out, and many years before. But, struggling to work Frenchmen out of band, he was too busy to notice. Und zo, kleine newsgroupies, der Kommandant keeps snarling black for white all the time as if he were In Charge. He has NO verification that all amateurs can do as the ARRL states that all amateurs do, hasn't claimed he has done it hisself, and therefore tries to shift gears in his own shiftless way by going to extremes. Is this your attempt to appear demented? Occasionally I get some spam mail that kind of reads like that.. It's the usual old, tired bull**** by the PCTA extras: Attack the messenger when they can't send a reply on the subject. WoW! I would never have expected to see that statement tacked onto the end of a vicious personal attack! I don't know WHY you wouldn't expect it, Mike! Lennie's whole schtick is about being able to be a victim. His whole career has been about being second place. Even when he's been at the ehad of his class, he's attacked any and all arond him as being "against" him. That's why he's never been at the head of the class for long. That's why his only "professional" writings were in an Amateur Radio journal. Excuse me, Leonard, but it certainly looks as if that is precisely what you have done. My words to "bb" were about a subject. You have drifted off on a sea of German phrases. And pseudo-German at that. It's Lennie's way of inferring that we are Nazis, Brownshirts, etc etc etc. He's said as much before. If I did't know better, I would say that Len doesn't like you very much...... Lennie doesn't like anyone, Mike, and that INCLUDES Lennie. He has no dignity or self-respect. A man that did wouldn't allow himself to be so readily made a fool of over and over and over again. But he DOES, and that alone speaks volumes of the character (or should I say LACK of character) of the person. 73 Steve, K4YZ |

Len Over 21 wrote: In article . com, "bb" writes: Brian, this newsgroup be DIFFERENT than any other newsgroup. You may be gaining some insight, Leonard. If this newsgroup wasn't different from any other newsgroup, there'd be no need to have more than one newsgroup. Everything gets redefined into what the PCTA extras want. It's "their" hang-out, "their" little chat room where everything and anything NOT involving morse code can be talked about, solved, and all those against the morse code test can be defamed and denigrated at their pleasure. You're leaving something out: It is a place where you can hang out, rant endlessly on something in which you play no part and snipe at amateur radio and radio amateurs. The PCTA extras are "superior." It probably just seems that way to a guy with an inferiority complex. They get angry into hissy-fits when some of us don't kiss their divine I/O ports. I don't even know where my divine I/O port is. If it is what I think it is, I got news for everyone. Mine is output only! ;^) - Mike KB3EIA |

Grown men (apparently, at least physically) gettting all wound up and hissy-fitting about how they are such vital assets to the nation because they are morsemen. Sometimes I think of their actions as "asset-retentive." :-) Don't be surprised, Len. I've seen grown men obsess over things in which they are not even involved, spending countless hours of their lives bellowing over issues involving areas in which they aren't even participants; things which don't effect them in the least. Go figure! WHOA! I thought that loud noise I heard was a sonic boom, but it was Dave's hammer hitting Lennie's nail square on the head! Heard it all the way in Tennessee! Nice job! 73 Steve, K4YZ |

I guess it's funnier when Mark Morgan does it.

Meaningless or not, it's still a bit confusing to tell who's responding to who/what/why, etc. I found the way...I find that when you first sign in and "repond" to a post in Google, it shows the responded-to post. However if you try to go directly to another repsonse, it won't do it. I just hit the "sign out" link, then re-enter...A bit laborious, but it allows others to see in what context I am responding. Even when it's meaningless! =) 73 Steve, K4YZ |

When I invoke the options, there is an identical "reply" button. This reply does quote text, but I don't always remember to go there first. |
