During a radiosport event like CQWWDX or ARRL DX I'm likely to work upwards of
300-400 band-countries in a 48-hour period. Since I have no idea what each
country allows band-by-band, I'd need to make 300-400 inquiries. Do you think
I'd win the contest?

for anything?

Good question, Steve!

Why do you?

73 de Jim, N2EY

Now Jim/N2EY has a problem "wasting time" with handicapped people.

No Jim is making a fair point, for once pointing Stevie faults

Ie Since Stevie claims my posts are not worth responding Jim askss why
he does.

That is a fair question and I conmend him for it

Now if Stevie would just have the courage to answer

or follow through

Silence is an answer

I tend to agree, the only problem
becomes exactly what does that
answer mean?

It's pretty clear to me what it means.

In this case it could mean he is lying and thinks it is
imperitve that I be answered (and why he would think
becomes an open question)

Or it could mean he is lying when hesays he can't understand

or it could mean...

That he thinks *you* are lying...

Or that he really can't understand...

Or that there's no real point in answering

It would be nice if Stevie had caurage to say what he means
instead of leting his silence answer for him

Seems pretty clear that Steve is taking his own advice.

Which I will do, too.

Hans, if you heard "O SOS OSO SOS..." transmitted during the CQWW,
would you take a moment to investigate?

IndeedSuch campassionate ops exist on CW

I would try to answer something that sounded like SOS or If I hread it
on my Shortwave receiever try and someoe that could answer it or
failing that Fire up the HF freqs on My Ft 847 sat rigs and answer it
myself or call for other staions to tune and help

IF I heard a CW Sos or something like Id try and help even as much as I
detest the mode itself

Captain Obvious, meet Captain Satire-Immune.

Mark, I spent years and years at sea standing radio watches in view of a clock
with the 15-18 minute and 45-48 minute positions outlined in red. I know, first
hand, the gut-tightening sound of a real SOS. You may have seen one portrayed
in a movie, so go play make-believe.
