It's amazing.....where did we get this type of person in ham radio? Is

We

Again, get some perspective Dan..... it's a radio service for
AMATEURS. IOW, it's a HOBBY. You speak like you are a commissioned
officer in the National Guard. Get over yourself.

Most to All of the operators are TECHNICIAN CLASS. Probably mostly new
hams to boot. And none are caught up in the BS I have read here. There
actually doing something. I've said it before and I'll say it again...I am
proud of what the hams are doing. If that is considered bragging, so be
it.

It's great what the hams are doing. But -you- are strutting.

Indeed that is the problem we have Hams Like Stevie and Danny boy. they
feel they ARE the entire ARS and therefore any slight of them is a
slight of the whole ARS.

Ham are prefroming useful and valueble service, but Dan was bragging
and has been drawn up short, so he goes on the attack

I guess I better not mention to him what I am doing with MARS also, eh?

That is bragging too, right?

Look at the subject line of this post. This entire thread was started
by you doing nothing -but- bragging; i.e, "how Ham Radio has stepped
up to the plate", how it's "showing its stuff", etc. Maybe you've
forgotten the definition of the word "brag"..... let me refresh your
failing memory, Dan:

brag -- v. [OFr, 'braguer'], to boast. n. 1. a boast; boasting. 2. a
person or thing boasted of. 3. a braggart.

braggart -- n. an offensively boastful person.

And it's certainly offensive when there are still people suffering
while you are carrying on about how great ham radio is and how you get
a warm fuzzy when you pass a couple messages. That's like a little kid
at a funeral begging for attention by making faces and yelling, "Look
at me! Look at me!". How old are you anyway, Dan?

I'm old enough to know an ignorant SOB when I see one. YOU.

But apparently not old enough to address your personal issues and
refrain from grade-school rhetoric. I most certainly am an SOB, but
you write the book when it comes to ignorance. It's not your fault
that your parents didn't teach you how there is a time for bragging
and a time for condolence. But after being gone from the nest for how
long now..... 40 years?..... you should have learned such basic moral
principles on your own. Your -only- excuse is ignorance. Isn't it
about time you grew up?

In addition, when the health and welfare traffic arrives in the general area
of its destination, it often goes into LOCAL VHF nets. Techs can
participate fully there, pick up traffic, and deliver it.

But I am not flaming them

I Am noting that Dan was blowing his own horn said nothing against the
run of the mill traffic handlers

The wrst I have done is say that their service is not the equal of the
Cops or NG or Red cross in the area

You on the other hand have chosen to flame ME for not doing the
impossible while not flaming Hans who appreantly could be there with
working gear and license in a few days

Plenty of the Double standard we see all to often
