Help support W1AW . . . more than an Amateur Radio tradition! (Feb 8, 2006) -- Since its dedication in 1938...(SNIP FOR BREVITY) UNQUOTE OK...That came FROM THE WEBSITE...NOT solicited OVER THE AIR. QUOTE The League invites contributions in any amount--or a pledge spread out over time to the W1AW Endowment Fund. Help to ensure that W1AW will remain the flagship station of the ARRL! For information on other giving options, contact ARRL Chief Development Officer Mary Hobart, K1MMH, 860-594-0397. Sounds to me like pecuniary interest, I mean here the FCC went after K1MAN for pecuniary interest and here the ARRL is begging for money for W1AW. It seems to me that the ARRL has the FCC in it'd pocket, if they are able to not get fined by the FCC. UNQUOTE Hey Toiddie Roidie...WHERE is the "pecuniary interest" as it pertains to the operation of W1AW? "Pecuniary Interest" means someone made a profit. The ARRL Fountation and it's support for W1AW via the Endowment Fund is an IRS 501(c)(3) approved charitable entity. Nothing in the solicitation suggests that one penny of funds would go anywhere but in support of an IRS-approved operation. The FCC has already outlined circumstances underwhich an operator of such a station may be the paid employee of the entity and not violate this rule. You have yet to show where there is even a hairbreadth bit of similarity between W1AW and the Maine Madman. Idiot. Steve, K4YZ |
