Surprisingly enough, no insert required.
The way I molded the "inside" of the knob holds the shaft. While not on super tight, they will not fall off. A couple more pictures....
1. See if you can tell which one of the knobs isn't original. (And no William, you can't take them off and check the backs) 2. I need to purchase some new dye. The white I had apparently turned into a hockey puck in the jar and didn't color as well as it should have. These are supposed to be off white, not cream. Jeff -- RESTRICTED AREA.
