Default Stewart-Warner Model 300 (3rd group of pics)

Part 3 and last.

There are three large dials on the radio. The one in the centre is labelled
"Wavelength", clearly for tuning the desired frequency. The other two are
not marked at all. What do they do?

Buck,
Without looking at a schematic, I would guess all three dials are
for tuning the RF stages, as in an A****er Kent model 20. I don't
know the date of your radio, but the AK 20 preceded ganged tuning
systems. The interior photo seems to locate the tuning condensers
approximately where those dials are on the front panel. Later radios
used metal bands or even chains to link the three condensers, and
then we ended up with three condensers on one shaft.
But I'd be happy to be corrected.
Cheers,
Nelson

By the way, that radio looks like it's in very nice condition.

I would agree. The date of the radio is 1920s and it's a TRF radio.

As you say the variable caps line up with the dials (I've looked at other
pics on the net as well). Perhaps band spread and fine tuning? (I'm way out
of my league here, just a guess).

I have one awaiting restoration. Mine is missing the top cover
unfortunately.
They are a neat looking set.
