This little(?) beauty is part of my book keeper's office decor...pretty
good taste, I'd say. It worked 'the last time [he] tried it'. He
teases that he'll sell it to me someday....

A very handsome set!

Is there a television behind the big door on the left? It looks like the
speakers are on the bottom. Hard to tell from the photos, but it looks as if
that door might slide to the right.

Make him an offer he can't refuse . . . :-)

Not a nick or a scratch on it. I believe he (or his father) may have
owned it since new.

No TV, that's a bar in there...at least a big open space (record
storage?) in which the owner stores bar glassware and liquor.

He doesn't need the money. In fact he already gets enough of mine.... :-(

That space cries out TV to me, but then I'm an "entertainment center" sort
of guy. If I owned that combo, I bet I could figure out a nondestructive way
to put a TV (vintage or new) in there.

Save up all of the newsgroup messages and forum postings in which collectors
lament that horizontal 1950s/1960s Euro consoles are essentially worthless.
People leave them out on the curb for collection, donate them to thrift
stores, chop them up for firewood, etc. Perhaps you can change his thinking
over time.

:-)

Regards,

Phil

I've already told him how worthless it is g. Every time I go in there
he asks if I want it. I think he can see my eyes light up. The other
bit of entertainment gear he has 'just sitting around' is a Marantz
receiver...with toobs! He doesn't even kid around about that one....
