While in Italy last week I spotted this radio in an art studio. I
thought it looked pretty cool. I was not able to peer into the chassis at all and did not want to turn it on without permission so I am not even sure if it is at tube model but suspect that it is. Anyone know what it might be? John |

John The dial looks like Geloso but Gelosos are generally plainly marked. Nice one, I like it! -Bill |

It almost certainly is a tube radio since it has a tuning eye. While it
would be technically possible to add a tuning eye to a solid state radio, it would involve a lot of parts used only for this purpose (such as a high voltage power supply). Some companies have been known to do weird things, but, until proven otherwise, assume it is a tube set. No frequency markings on the dial. It's not the first set like that I've seen but it is uncommon. John Bachman wrote: While in Italy last week I spotted this radio in an art studio. I thought it looked pretty cool. John This is your radio, http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/watt_wr120wr_12.html I notice that this company made it a point to ignore its neighbor , former Yugoslavia on the dial scale! Omer BTW yes it does have a dial scale! |
