Link coupled tank circuit (home built, my guess) from some really nostalgic old Johnson parts. There isn't enough in the pictures to see if it had the tubes to complete a push-pull final RF amplifier, or if it was somebody's Idea of an antenna tuner. Pictures of the back of the cabinet or an overhead of the chassis might give better conclusions. Great find! I'm jealous. Would make a really weird crystal set. (got to believe that was a joke.......
