Default Working on sets - example ( TV-37 troubleshooting)

Using a copy of the schematic to work your way through a set...

Items in RED - found bad / out of tolerance - and replaced.

Items in ORANGE - replaced by default (mostly electrolytics and paper
caps - sometimes resistors (like the 1M in an eye-tube socket)

Items in GREEN - checked & OK - notice this includes conncetions -
make sure every component wire, etc. is where it's supposed to be.

Items in BLUE - modifications or substitutions. Doesn't apply in this
example - but take for instance a battery set that has been converted
to run on 120V (i.e. 6xx tubes substituted for 1xx tubes, etc.). Added
/ rewired part would be so marked.

When I go through a set for someone else - they get this sheet - so
they know exactly what I did.
