Default New scanners from Radio Shack??? anyone know?

The Pro-96 has been around for a while, any rumors out there about new
scanners from GRE/RadioShack?

looking mainly for digital scanners, needed to hear local PD/FD....

It's speculated that GRE probably won't release a new model until
some rebanded systems are online. Erring on the side of caution, I
suppose.

In the meantime, the PRO-96/2096 works quite well unless you need to
track 700MHz trunked or LTR systems. In that case, the newer Uniden
scanners (396/996) should work for you.

All of the above *should* be able to be modified to work after
rebanding takes place, but nothing is 100% certain. Hence, it may
be wise indeed for GRE to wait.

thanks ... enough waiting, going to take the digital plunge ... :-)
can't find uniden locally, so radio shack it is.
Looks like Win96 is the way to go for programming software.

The choice is a bit more than local/mail order. You should really
compare the 96/396 or 2096/996 feature by feature to see which one
best suits your needs.

indeed, and I did.... via the internet anyway. all look like good
