I'm completely new to scanners, want to scan emergency traffic
(police, firefighter etc). As far as I understand this scanner can scan all those frequencies--as a matter of fact all the sub-shortwave freqs besides the cellphone. Am I correct? I'm in a very large metropolitan area(NYC) and wondering if I'm ok in a setting like this. Also heard that some police departments use some kind of scrambling or some such thing. Can I still listen in to the good stuff with this device. Here is a link at amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/UNIDEN-BC-246T...1271202&sr=1-1 Also, several years back I've bought my first shortwave from some place on the internet (NOT universal-radio) and they were really nice to me and so I would like to give them my business again but for the life of me can't remember who they were other than they were one of the major resellers. Website had alot of red colors and there weren't any pictures just links to the product descriptions. Any ideas who that was. thanks a bunch for all the help. |
